SMX Advanced Coverage

Next week SMX Advanced in Seattle begins and I’ll be helping out the folks at Search Engine Roundtable like I have in the past. I’m really looking forward to this show and I’d love to meet as many of you as possible.

This time around I won’t be covering as many sessions but the ones I am writing about personally seem pretty interesting. Here’s the sessions I’ll be covering.

June 3rd
10:45-12:00 pm - Winning from the Start: Getting Ad Copy Right

1:30-2:45 pm - Conversion Optimization: Winning After They Arrive

June 4th
10:45-12:00 pm - What You Should Be Measuring — But Aren’t!

I’ll also be updating my status on twitter which I’ve had problems keeping up with in the past so shoot me a note if you’d like to meet up. My badge obviously has my name (Justin Davy) and the company I work for is Scripps Networks. See you all there.

Just Registered for SMX Advanced June 3-4, 2008

Will you be in Seattle between June 2-5th this year? If so I will be. In the past I’ve attended the SES (Search Engine Strategies) conferences and while I’ve enjoyed myself, learned some cool things and met a lot of great people, I’m really looking forward to Danny’s SMX Conference. Not to dawg on SES but I really feel like I’ve outgrown it in terms of the sessions. During the last one in Chicago well over half the audience was new to search and was attending their first search conference. I think its great for people who are new to the industry, but when it comes to the sessions SES just doesn’t seem to be for me at this time. Thats the biggest reason why I’m looking forward to SMX Advanced. From what I’ve read it seems to be a smaller group with a lot more advanced tracks and it happens to be in Seattle where I’ve never been. I’m looking forward to being there and if your going to be attending let me know and perhaps we can meet up.

Heading to Chicago for SES & Live Blogging

Next week i’ll be heading to Search Engine Strategies in Chicago. I’m excited about the event and there are some sessions that look very informative and apply to a lot of what i’m working on at Scripps. I’ll be blogging for Search Engine Roundtable while I’m there which is great because it will keep me focused all 4 days of the event. Search Engine Roundtable will also be covering PubCon Vegas which will be going on at the same time so my guess is that there will be a lot of Search Engine Marketers doing the whole conference thing next week.

Below are the sessions that I will be blogging for Barry and the gang. If your going to be in Chicago let me know!

  • Search Around the World - Part One: Asia/Pacific & Australia
  • The Human Equation: Giving Back Internet Style
  • Igniting Viral Campaigns
  • Usability & SEO: Two Wins For The Price of One
  • Big Site, Big Search
  • Sitemaps: Oversold, Misused, or On The Money?
  • Online Maps: Plotting the Direction of Local Search
  • Case Study: Moving from Paper to Online (This one sounds really intriguing)
  • Your Marketing Program in Context
  • Calling All Clicks: PayPerCall and You
  • PPC Advertising on Influential Blogs and Social Media
  • Search Marketers on Click Fraud
  • This looks to be a pretty good conference and these are just the sessions that I will be blogging. Again if your going hit me up and if not be sure to check out Search Engine Roundtable for full SES conference coverage.
